Norwich City admirers of Wigan Athletic player but immediate move unlikely
The offensive midfielder from League One is admired by Norwich City. NCFC has until the January transfer window closes to finalize any agreements.
The 22-year-old Aasgaard has made 31 appearances for Wigan Athletic across all competitions so far this season, 26 of which have been in the league, and has contributed 12 goals and two assists. However, it might be difficult for the Latics to hold onto him in the future.
According to The Pink Un’s most recent update on his condition, the Canaries are monitoring the player’s development in the third division. They are not under any immediate pressure to sell him this month because he has a deal with The Brick Community Stadium through the summer of 2028.
Aasgaard might be able to add more quality to Norwich City’s roster in the future.
He has progressed through the ranks of Wigan Athletic’s academy since joining them in 2016.
Before making his debut in the Latics’ main squad in 2020, the Liverpool native was a consistent player at several different youth levels.
Before joining his present team, Aasgaard played for Liverpool as a young player.
In a league match against Peterborough United in 2020, the former Norway youth international made his first appearance in the first team.
A few months later in January 2021, Aasgaard signed his first professional contract and has since established himself as a vital member of the team.

“This football club is very important to my family and myself, and it has truly helped me grow as a player and a person.They have supported me from the beginning, and I want to show them how good I am on the field in return.
It remains to be seen if Norwich City will ultimately make a summertime bid for Aasgaard.
However, they have plenty of possibilities for the future in the interim.
