One Rugby League club have re-signed a fan favourite for 2025 leading to him declaring that he wants to see his career out with the club.

That man is Josh Hardcastle at Featherstone Rovers with the 32-year-old penning a new one-year deal, extending his stay at the club and heading into his ninth season.

During that time, Hardcastle has made over 170 appearances for the club after joining from local rugby league side Featherstone Lions back in 2017.

Josh Hardcastle, 32, has extended his stay at Featherstone Rovers and is entering his ninth season after signing a new one-year contract.

Hardcastle joined the team from the nearby rugby league team Featherstone Lions in 2017 and has since made more than 170 appearances.

Hardcastle had a stroke during the 2023 season, but he recovered and signed a new contract for the most recent 2024 campaign, so his stay at Post Office Road hasn’t been without its challenges.

The team extended the center’s contract for an additional year after he played 27 games and scored six tries during the previous season, demonstrating his tenacity and diligence.

Hardcastle has been playing well ever since he returned to the pitch in a preseason friendly against the Dewsbury Rams in July 2023, following his stroke. He will now compete for a spot in a crowded Featherstone Rovers team that has added outside backs like Carlos Tuimavave and Derrell Olpherts.
