According to reports in Italy, Lazio are interested in signing 19-year-old Chelsea defender Aaron Anselmino after reaching a deal with the Premier League club to capture Italy prospect Cesare Casadei over the weekend. Lazio has already finalised an agreement with Chelsea to bring Casadei back to Italy after his spell with the Blues. According to sources on Sunday, he will join for €12 million with a 25% sell-on clause. According to Corriere dello Sport, Lazio is not stopping there with a week left in the January transfer window and would like to add another defender to Marco Baroni’s squad.

According to Sunday’s rumour, Lazio is interested in another deal with Chelsea to recruit young defender Anselmino, who recently returned from a loan with Boca Juniors, where he played before being purchased for about €20 million in the summer. Lazio was interested in loaning the 19-year-old, but Chelsea has already surpassed the limit for the number of players they can have out on loan at any given moment, making that option unlikely. Instead, the Biancocelesti might make a similar offer to Casadei, adding a large sell-on clause to close the difference between their cash offer and Chelsea’s valuation.
