“Monster in our midst”… Ian Wright is astounded by the 21-year-old that Arsenal is hoping to sign.

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is reportedly a target for Arsenal, and Ian Wright has spoken highly of him.

After an outstanding season at Goodison Park, the 21-year-old has been a target for Mikkel Arteta.

Several big teams are reportedly interested in signing Jarrad Branthwaite, including Arsenal, Real Madrid, Tottenham, and Manchester United.

In Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton, the teenager scored his second goal of the season, continuing his impressive form for the Toffees this season.

And Everton veteran Ian Wright has praised the defender, calling him a “monster,” following his most recent performance.

Wright gushes about Branthwaite, Arsenal target

The former Gunners striker stated on Wrighty’s House that Branthwaite has shown enough to warrant a call-up to the England national team.

“I would like to present Jarrad Branthwaite with a bouquet of flowers,” Wright expressed. Now I think he’ll be on England’s next squad. He has acquired everything.

His play, both on the right and the left side, is impressive. Very bold. And then when you listen to his interview he sounds like somebody who is like yeah, I’m there, I’m here.

“He should be called up. And not just that, he should be played. Let’s have a look at him. I’m telling you we have a monster on our hands at left-sided centre-half. A monster.”

Branthwaite has swiftly established himself as a regular under Sean Dyche this season and is viewed as one of the greatest prospects in the Premier League.

It’s no surprise to see a bunch of prominent clubs sniffing around the centre-back immediately. But Arsenal would face stern composition for his signature should they decide to tighten up their interest.

With Real Madrid also intrigued, Everton are reportedly set to seek around £75 million for the defender this summer.

Arsenal aren’t exactly urgent for reinforcements at centre-back either, with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes forging an amazing relationship over the past.
