After witnessing a rampaging Rangers team completely destroy his Hearts side, Steven Naismith is now pleading with his players to do the same to Hibs.

“We have to improve our performance, so I think it will be better. Our success this season has been entirely attributed to our ability to play strong defense when not in possession of the ball. We fell short there on Saturday, but I have a good feeling that we’ll pick things up again on Wednesday.”
While acknowledging that a painful journey down the M8 will have taught them some lessons, Naismith foresees a completely different kind of test versus the Hibees. “We expect it to be more like the games we have come up against in the 12-game [unbeaten] run,” he said to the Edinburgh Evening News. That is what our preparation will entail. It’s important to remember from Saturday that it will cost you to pass up opportunities to talented players, and that’s exactly what happened.
“On Saturday, when we play the Old Firm in Glasgow again, we will conduct further analysis. Their confidence is great, so there won’t be many games when we have to deal with that atmosphere and how quickly they started. Saturday gives us time to think things through and assess the situation, but Wednesday is a whole other ballgame.”
