Taxi driver jailed for sexual attack on passenger after Coventry city centre pick-up

In Coventry, a taxi driver assaulted a woman who had hired him to transport her home. After spending a night out in the city center in December 2022, Abdul Wahab was booked by his victim. The 47-year-old predator from Churchill Avenue in Coventry pulled over during the trip, climbed into the rear, and sexually attacked the victim.Wahab’s account changed as a result of the investigation conducted by West Midlands police investigators.

He repeatedly denied committing the sexual assault before claiming he had forgotten about it. Even though his cell phone data connected him to the crime site, he informed police that other persons had access to his taxi and that it might have been one of them. However, police officials were able to convict the disgusting taxi driver after seeing through his claims and gathering evidence that showed he was present when the crime was carried out.

Wahab has been detained on remand until his sentencing hearing on Monday, January 20, since his conviction in July of last year.
