If Everton’s performance doesn’t start to improve, they may have to hire a new manager because the Friedkin Group hasn’t been forgiving of Roma thus far this season.
Despite having a better record than Jose Mourinho at the Italian club, Daniele De Rossi was fired, and Claudio Ranieri has since taken Ivan Juric’s place.
It’s interesting to note that Ranieri has already been informed by the Friedkin Group of their position on the Everton takeover, which holds that the Merseyside team is being acquired only to support their multi-club strategy.
According to Graeme Bailey, there is one problem that the potential new owners are already aware of and will need to monitor going ahead.
The Friedkin Group’s stance on PSR issues at Everton
Everton’s points deduction cost them dearly the previous season, and it was recently revealed that the PSR problems have left them scarred.
Graeme Bailey said in an exclusive interview with Everton News that the Friedkin Group is aware of the problem and is certain that it can be resolved.
It’s concerning. You are aware that the systems will change in the summer, but I have been informed that the Friedkins are aware of this and are at ease with the situation, which is why they are taking over.
“Yeah, it might not happen right away, but I’ve been informed that they understand the consequences and what needs to be done.”
What Everton insiders have previously said about the PSR issue
Similar news was reported in an update from Everton sources at the beginning of October, who said that everything was under control.
With the confirmation last week of a takeover agreement for the Friedkin Group to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s whole 94.1% ownership of Everton, there is now reasonable optimism that the team will have a far more secure and prosperous future.
According to Everton’s internal expectations, PSR compliance is not going to be a significant problem this season, which lowers the need for another substantial sale from a regulatory standpoint. This is despite the club’s two points being deducted last season.
