Major development in Matheus Cunha saga – Real Madrid are now indirectly involved in Wolves forward’s future

With just goals scored separating them from Ipswich Town, the Old Gold are perilously close to the relegation

zone. Where Wolves play football next season will probably depend on Matheus Cunha’s future. During his pre-

Arsenal press conference, Vitor Pereira reaffirmed that Cunha is not for sale; however, the ongoing story has since

taken a new turn.

Enemy club latest to want Matheus Cunha

Six Premier League teams have already expressed interest in Cunha, and now a seventh has entered the

waiting list.

The Daily Mail claims that Aston Villa has their sights set on Wolves’ number ten and may try to sign

him if one of their own forwards leaves before Deadline Day.

Al-Nassr has begun to target Jhon Duran. But even if the Saudi Pro League team has a lot of money to

spend, it’s unclear how much Villa would need to agree to a deal.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also keeping an eye on Duran. Madrid, without a doubt the

team with the most clout, would try to loan Endrick, which would make a possible transfer for Duran

more feasible.

Should these pieces come together, and Endrick depart the Santiago Bernabeu and Duran leave Villa

Park, then Cunha’s future in the Midlands will also be cast further into doubt.

Worst possible club

West Brom, Wolves’ fiercest opponents, is obviously unlikely to sign Cunha, but the next worst team

might.

Some Old Gold supporters will be furious at the prospect of seeing their best player, who might make

the difference in relegation, leave across town. Villa is one of the Old Gold’s fiercest rivals.

Even though Villa is in a far stronger league and financial position, Fosun cannot permit this planned

purchase to proceed.

Supporters would prefer that Cunha join a team other than the Villains, even though they don’t want to

lose him.
