In the latest kind gesture, the company will contribute their front-of-shirt sponsorship and matchday rights to Beder, a mental health and suicide prevention charity, when Bolton Wanderers visit Berkshire on Saturday, February 1. Razzak Mirjan and his family established the charity in 2019 in memory of their brother, Beder Mirjan, who committed suicide at the age of 18 in 2017. This coincides with Time To Talk Day on February 6, an opportunity for all of us to be more honest about our mental health and express how we truly feel.
Mr Mirjan informed the club, “We’re incredibly grateful to Select Car Leasing for providing us with this unique opportunity, and we can’t wait to see the Reading players wearing our one-of-a-kind Beder shirts.” “The premise is simple. We hope that seeing the Beder emblem on the players’ chests and throughout the stadium piques supporters’ interest enough to lead them to Google our name and learn more about what we do. It’s about creating new conversations about mental health and suicide prevention, and making more people feel comfortable sharing.”
Mark Tongue, CEO and Founder of Select Car Leasing, stated, “Football draws people together, connecting supporters from all walks of life through a common feeling of belonging and identity. So, what better way to raise awareness of one of the UK’s premier mental health and suicide prevention charities than to have Beder’s name and logo on the front of a team shirt? “My own family has experienced the loss of a loved one through suicide, so this is an issue close to my heart. “When we learnt about the charity’s goals and objectives, we leaped at the opportunity to put Beder in the spotlight at the Select Car Leasing stadium for this exceptional, one-time event. It’s a chance for people to start thinking more deeply about mental health, to check in with friends and family, and to open-up about how they might be feeling. These aren’t easy conversations but it’s vital that we all have them.”
