Rangers: Chris Sutton slams ‘bitterly disappointing’ Celtic after 5-0 win v Hearts at Ibrox

Rangers: Chris Sutton condemns ‘bitterly disappointing’ Celtic following 5-0 win v Hearts at Ibrox.

Rangers overcoming Hearts with the help of three January acquisitions would annoy Celtic fans, according to Chris Sutton.

Mohamed Diomande, Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva all scored as the Gers smashed the Jambos 5-0 on Saturday (25 February).

The trio all joined the Ibrox club on loan in the winter transfer window, with Sutton adding that no comparable transfer success had taken place at Celtic Park.

“If you look at the recruitment in the summer and the nine players that Celtic signed, it was jumbled, muddled thinking,” remarked Sutton, as per Sky Sports Scotland. “Celtic failed to prepare for the Champions League and ended up finishing bottom, which was bitterly disappointing.

“Celtic supporters look at it like this: they had a chance in the summer to absolutely bury Rangers, to win the league and get the Champions League riches – but that hasn’t happened.

“When you see three of Rangers’ January signings scoring yesterday that will only add to the frustration of the Celtic support.”
