Aston Villa will only entertain bids in excess of £85million for striker Jhon Duran amid interest from Al Nassr.
According to talkSPORT on Thursday, the Saudi Pro League club is looking to strengthen their attack and has contacted the Colombian, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future uncertain.
The Midlands club is hesitant to part ways with the 21-year-old, as Duran only recently signed a new contract until 2030.
Villa are asking a huge £85 million fee for the striker and have hinted that even then, there is no certainty they will consent to a deal.
West Ham rejected a £57 million deal earlier this week, and Paris Saint-Germain has expressed interest but is hesitant to spend too much.
Villa will very certainly play hardball in order to keep his services, but the Saudi Pro League club’s wealth will put their determination to the test.
Duran has had a standout season despite not being a certain starter for Unai Emery’s squad.
He has scored an incredible 12 goals this season, including crucial strikes in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
Duran may still partner Ronaldo in attack for the rest of the season if Villa receives an irresistible offer.
According to reports in Spain, Duran is considering lining up alongside Ronaldo in the hopes of mounting a late-season title assault.
Sadio Mane, a Senegalese forward for Al Nassr, could be at the focus of a potential Duran move.
The former Liverpool player has been the focus of curiosity about his future, with whispers circulating about a surprising comeback to European sport.
Mane, who is committed until 2026, has denied reports linking him with moves to Galatasaray and AC Milan, with Al Nassr apparently aiming to free up one of their international berths for future signings.
However, Mane has stated unequivocally that he is entirely dedicated to the club and spoke about it following his team’s 3-1 victory over Al Khaleej on Tuesday.
“Yes, I think it’s part of football, and as a player, you have to accept that,” Mane told the crowd. “Rumors will always exist, but I am no longer a young player who is affected by them.” I’m here, focused on my team.
“It does not concern me. My ambition is to stay at Al Nassr and assist the team win titles.”
