Everton: Fabrizio Romano shares Amadou Onana transfer update as Arsenal attitude emerges.

Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has a “good chance” of completing a trade away from Goodison Park amid interest from Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist revealed via his Daily Briefing on Saturday (24 February) that many clubs remain interested in signing the Belgian midfielder this summer, with the Gunners one team known to appreciate him.

However, Mikel Arteta’s team also has an interest in Real Sociedad ace Martin Zubimendi and are yet to decide what style of midfielder they would like to recruit, with no decision expected at this stage of the season.

Writing in his Daily Briefing, he said: “Onana is attracting interest and I think he has a good chance to move in the summer.”

Will Everton sell Amadou Onana to Arsenal this summer?

It appears increasingly likely that Onana will not be an Everton player for much longer, with interest in the Belgian midfielder seemingly growing week after week ahead of the summer transfer window at Goodison Park.

The 22-year-old has impressed under Dyche’s management and it is only natural that clubs would begin to take note of his performances and the summer may be the opportune moment for the Toffees to cash in and sell the international.

With uncertainty surrounding Everton’s takeover by 777 Partners and their appeal over their point punishment for financial fair play breaches, the Toffees may have to sell before they buy again at the end of the season and Onana is one of the most sellable assets.

Whether or not he ends up at Arsenal at the start of next season remains to be seen, but it feels fairly clear that Onana won’t be lining up at Goodison for much longer, especially if the Toffees can’t dodge the drop to the Championship.
