David Moyes should drive 27-year old to Villa Park himself as Emery eyes up transfer for West Ham man

Given the rumors that Unai Emery wants to bring one of his players to Aston Villa, West Ham United manager David Moyes ought to take one of his players up to Villa Park himself.

David Moyes needs to bring in a number of players at West Ham during the January transfer window, but one man may be heading out the door as Aston Villa is reportedly interested in signing him.

David Moyes

This winter, Hammers defender Thilo Kehrer is rumored to be a transfer target for Villa, and I believe Moyes should let him go without hesitation.

The Scot signed the 27-capped Germany international for around £13 million from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2022 (The Sun).

It would be no surprise to see Kehrer leave the Hammers, he has already been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

And Villa, or any other club for that matter, signing him in January would do us a massive favour as far as I’m concerned

David Moyes must sell West Ham defender

The Hammers must offload Kehrer immediately if they have any chance of recovering even close to what we paid for him.

With the exception of his brilliant replacement performance in the Europa Conference League final the previous season, the German has performed appallingly for West Ham.

Thilo Kehrer

With just 371 minutes of action across all competitions, including just 18 minutes in the Premier League, he has significantly dropped down David Moyes’ right- and center-back pecking order this season (Transfermarkt).

His lack of focus, reckless tackles, and bad judgment have let us down almost every time he has played for West Ham.

With its intensity and physical toughness, the Premier League is obviously not his fit. Kehrer is someone we should just disregard as an error and get over with as quickly as possible.

It appears that David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, has the opportunity to do just that. If Emery is serious about Kehrer, the Scot ought to take the German up the M6 to Villa Park on his own.
