Shoe factory in Dibden Road in Norwich demolished after fire
Part of a derelict shoe factory in Norwich has been demolished after being devastated by fire.
The blaze broke out at the former Van-Dal shoe factory, in Dibden Road, on Monday night with seventeen fire crews called to battle the flames.
Now part of the building has been demolished to ensure the safety of the site following concerns about structural safety.
Yesterday, Norwich City Council issued an asbestos warning for locals living within an 80m radius following the blaze.

Though the health risk is said to be low, the council has urged caution with further air and ground testing due to take place later today.
A joint statement from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and Norwich City Council said: “To ensure the site is as safe as possible, work is ongoing and is likely to include some partial demolition.
“Please be assured, that we are working closely with the site owners to ensure all work is carried out in line with strict safety guidance, with measures in place to minimise noise and dust.
“Specialist asbestos operatives are on-site to handle any materials safely.”
