Police, firefighters respond to ‘potential active shooter’ in Pinson area

According to reports, Jefferson County police and firefighters are responding to what may be an active shooting. In response to claims of a significant law enforcement presence, the Center Point Fire Department sent WVTM 13 the following email at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday:

“The Pinson neighborhood may be home to an active shooter. I think the person was shooting at law enforcement and threatening suicide. We have staging units. The scene is now live at 5200 Block Old Pinson D. The event was described by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office as “possible suicide with no other injuries.” To collect more, WVTM 13’s crew is currently on their way to the region.
