Everton: Legal Chief responds to direct 777 Partners takeover question in new update

Everton: Legal Chief reacts to direct 777 Partners takeover query in fresh update..

Everton Chief Legal Counsel and Company Secretary Katie Charles has highlighted that the 777 Partners acquisition agreement is continuing to make progress.

Charles was asked directly by the Fan Advisory Board in a meeting on 22 February, as she indicated that, as far as she is aware, 777 had supplied all relevant documentation to the Premier League.

This comes after Premier League CEO Richard Masters claimed possible delays in the process could be a result of the group not presenting what they had been expected to show.

As indicated by a paper from the FAB: “KC confirmed that this is a matter between 777 and the Premier League.

“As far as KC was aware 777 had responded to all of the requests for information from the regulatory authorities and that the process for the change of ownership to 777 was progressing.”

Will 777 Partners complete its Everton takeover?

With talks now understood to be progressing, and 777 having submitted all of the paperwork needed by the Premier League, there appears to be little cause for any more delay – implying big news could be on the way soon.

However, certain issues have been raised during the process which, regardless of the eventual conclusion of the owners and directors test, supporters should be aware of.

Author Martin Calladine went as far as to warn the group could destroy Everton, in a worrying verdict published as he emplored the Premier League not to approve 777 Partners’ takeover of the club.

The seemingly infinite number of concerns emerging regarding 777 and its other commercial endeavors should be treated as a massive red signal by Everton and the Premier League.

However, given the update from Charles, it appears the takeover is creeping closer to completion. Whether that is a plus or bad for the club is up for debate.
