Ipswich Town have ‘made an offer’ for defender – Will be accepted if club can stomach losing money

Ipswich Town is reportedly interested in Galatasaray defender Elias Jelert, according to Turkish media.

After his troubles this season, the Super Lig champions are eager to let go of the right back, and the Premier League team might provide him with a way out.

After the young player was recently linked to Everton, Sabah Today reports on the most recent events about Jelert’s future. Ipswich Town is said to have “made an offer” for the Denmark international, although no amount has been reported.

There is a clear indication that Ipswich Town’s offer is less than that, as the Turkish media outlet claims that Gala is trying to recover the €9 million they paid for the Danish international after they signed him from Copenhagen. Sabah states: “If the red-yellows are willing to lose money on the Danish player they invested €9 million in, this transfer will happen.” The Premier League team has been busy this transfer window after signing Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa and is also close to signing Julio Enciso from Brighton. Jelert has only started four league games since joining Galatasaray, and his contract with Cimbom is set to expire in June 2029.
