“What a responds?” Gerard Deulofeu responds to Everton after Goodison Park message

Gerard Deulofeu responds to Everton after Goodison Park message.

Gerard Deulofeu has responded to Everton’s message of support following his admission that his playing days may be over.

The 29-year-old has not played for Udinese since January 2023, when he had a catastrophic knee injury, and has stated that he may never play again.

Deulofeu only appeared 75 times for Everton in two seasons, but he rapidly became a fan favourite at Goodison Park, as evidenced by the outpouring of passion from fans.

In response to Everton’s comment on his X post on Thursday (22 February), he replied, “Love you, Everton.”

Gerard Deulofeu, a former Everton star, has suffered a significant blow.

Any football player will understand Deulofeu’s spectrum of emotions as he comes to grips with not being able to perform what he loves.

Considering he is only 29 years old, the winger still has plenty of life in him and a lot of time and energy to devote to Udinese, but it appears his playing days are finished.

Everton fans will adore Deulofeu, despite his small amount of appearances for the club, and the affection appears to be reciprocated.

The Spaniard has had an amazing career so far, having played for Barcelona, Everton, Sevilla, AC Milan, Watford, and his current club Udinese.

His flare, on-the-ball talent, and cleverness rapidly established him as a fan favourite at Goodison Park and at every other team he joined. One of his most memorable matches was for Watford in the FA Cup semi-finals, where the Hornets produced an astonishing comeback against Wolves.

Though he no longer plays for the Merseyside club and hasn’t been there since 2017, fans have rallied around Deulofeu throughout this trying time.

If he does have to hang up his boots, it will be a difficult transition, as many athletes struggle to accept at the end of their careers. The abruptness of the situation will only make matters worse for him.
