West Ham United boss David Moyes should drive one of his players up to Villa Park himself, amidst rumours that Unai Emery wants to bring him to Aston Villa.

David Moyes needs to bring in a number of players at West Ham during the January transfer window, but one man may be heading out the door as Aston Villa is reportedly interested in signing him.

This winter, Hammers defender Thilo Kehrer is rumored to be a transfer target for Villa, and I believe Moyes should let him go without hesitation.

In August 2022, the Scot signed the 27-cap Germany international with Paris Saint-Germain for approximately £13 million (The Sun).

Kehrer’s departure from the Hammers would not be surprising—he has already been connected to a transfer to Bayern Munich.

And I think it would be really beneficial for Villa, or any other team, to sign him in January.

David Moyes must sell West Ham defender

The Hammers must offload Kehrer immediately if they have any chance of recovering even close to what we paid for him.

With the exception of his brilliant replacement performance in the Europa Conference League final the previous season, the German has performed appallingly for West Ham.

With just 371 minutes of action across all competitions, including just 18 minutes in the

Premier League, he has significantly dropped down David Moyes’ right- and center-back pecking order this season (Transfermarkt).

Pretty much every time he has played for West Ham, he has let us down with his lapses in concentration, rash tackling and poor decision making.

He is quite clearly not cut out for the Premier League, what with its intensity and physical robustness.

Kehrer is one we should just write off as a mistake, and move on as soon as possible.

David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, appears to have the opportunity to do just that.

Should Emery be truly interested in Kehrer, the Scot need to take the German up the M6 to Villa Park on his own.
