Michael Graham accuses Ipswich of ‘setting up’ Jack Clarke for failure, ex-Sunderland ace needs one thing
This season, former Sunderland player Jack Clarke is still having trouble at Ipswich Town, and it’s starting to become a serious worry.
Many Black Cats supporters were devastated to see Jack Clarke leave when Sunderland transferred him to Premier League newcomers Ipswich in the summer.
But whatever his reason for leaving the Stadium of Light, no one would have wished his present troubles on anyone.
Fans claim they’ve had enough of Clarke and want him to move on after his most recent appearance with the Tractor Boys. However, is it really just to hold Clarke solely responsible?
Ipswich Town are not giving Jack Clarke consistent game time
In his discussion of Clarke’s current situation on Twitter/X, Sunderland analyst Michael Graham placed the full blame on the winger’s usage at Portman Road, especially in relation to his playing time.
Graham stated: “Start against Man City, four minutes at home against Brighton.” It appears that Ipswich is deliberately placing Jack Clarke in a vulnerable situation at the moment.
It is clear that Graham feels it is unfair to start Clarke against Pep Guardiola’s team, especially considering that he just played four minutes in midweek. An inconsistency of this kind simply cannot help Clarke gain any kind of momentum.
Clarke has talked about his form, pointing to momentum as a crucial element while also raising the possibility that he isn’t performing at his best at Ipswich.

Jack Clarke needs a loan move this month, but Sunderland aren’t the answer
Even when Clarke scored his first goal for Ipswich in the FA Cup last week, he didn’t appear happy or joyful, so something needs to give.
In order for the 24-year-old to regain his best form and confidence, it would be reasonable for Ipswich to send him out on loan.
Nevertheless, there may be little chance for Clarke to return to Sunderland, mainly because the Black Cats don’t absolutely need him at this time.
Clarke would just be a luxury, and a costly one at that, as Regis Le Bris will have a large selection of wingers after Tommy Watson and Romaine Mundle recover from their injuries.
