Wigan Athletic target recalled from Stockport County loan

Wigan Athletic target Tayo Adaramola has been recalled by Crystal Palace from his loan at Stockport County, as confirmed by the Hatters’ official club website.

Wigan Athletic are interested in signing the defender this winter, according to London News Online. WAFC has until the end of the January transfer window to finalize a deal.
Adaramola, 21, was given the go light to join Stockport County on a temporary basis last summer to gain experience. He has now made ten appearances in all competitions for Dave Challinor’s team, six of which were starts.

In the most recent update on his predicament this month, the North West outfit revealed that he has returned to Crystal Palace. He was scheduled to spend the entire campaign at Edgeley Park.

The door was now open for the Latics to sweep in and look for some new faces.

Adaramola might help Wigan Athletic’s defense.

His stint at Stockport County did not go as planned, and a change of scenery may be beneficial.
Challinor said on their website at the time: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Tayo to the Club.” Again, he’s a guy who has been on our radar for some time, as his profile fits our system and what we expect from our full-backs and wingbacks.

“His will to be positive and move forward with speed will surely benefit us, and he possesses the athleticism to do so over long periods of time. We believe he has matured and improved over the previous year, and we are confident that he will have a significant impact on both League 1 and our squad. We are all looking forward to working with him and developing him during his stay with us.”

Adaramola spent last season on loan with RWD Molenbeek in the Belgian Pro League, appearing in 14 appearances.

The Republic of Ireland youth international began his career at St. Kevin’s Boys and St. Mochta’s before transferring to England in 2015.

Crystal Palace signed him, and he has since progressed through the ranks of the Eagles.

He signed his first professional deal with Selhurst Park in 2020 and has made two first-team appearances.

Coventry City signed him on loan in 2021, however he only appeared once for the Sky Blues.

What now for Wigan Athletic target Tayo Adaramola?

Crystal Palace must make a crucial decision about what to do next with Adaramola before the deadline.

Switching to Wigan Athletic until the summer would benefit all parties involved.
