Striker confirmation ends speculation over Sheffield Wednesday man – absence explained
Bailey Cadamarteri, a striker for Sheffield Wednesday, will stay with Lincoln City for the rest of the 2024–2025
campaign.
It was unexpected to see the 19-year-old striker left out of the squad for the Imps’ match against Northampton Town
at Sixfields Stadium, considering he now leads the team in goals scored with eight goals in all competitions. This led
some to speculate that the Owls might be trying to call up the striker.
However, Michael Skubala has clarified that is unquestionably not the case, as they went on to win by a slim 1-0
margin despite his absence due to a groin injury versus Northampton, which may have lasted a little longer. He
clarified that Wednesday is pleased with the player’s current status.
“He is staying,” the Lincoln manager affirmed. He is content, performing admirably, leading our team in goals, and
continuing to grow and learn. He has been outstanding. He has a little groin issue, and although Sheffield
Wednesday is quite pleased with him, we don’t know if it will last a few days or weeks. Nevertheless, he is staying,
which is fantastic.
Prior to the Northampton match, Cadamarteri started six straight League One games and has already played 31
times for his loan club this season. He will be hoping to return to action as soon as possible in order to record his
first double-figure total in his young career during his first full season as a senior player.
