The Miami Dolphins defeated the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, keeping their postseason aspirations alive. On one play, Mike McDaniel took a jab at a large player.
McDaniel enjoys talking trash, and he can sometimes compete with the best of them. It’s unusual for a head coach to run off with his mouth, especially during a game, but McDaniel did just that last Sunday.
This time, McDaniel took a swipe at Raiders stud defensive end Maxx Crosby, and it was all recorded on NFL microphone. After Crosby jumped offside, McDaniel walked down the field saying, “We didn’t have a play called Maxx,” “We didn’t have a play called,” “LOL.” (Yes, McDaniel actually said “LOL”)
Tyreek Hill loves Mike McDaniel trash-talking Maxx Crosby
In response to the video, Hill posted on his X (previously Twitter) account, “Our coach is so lame and I love it,” followed by a laughing emoji. He followed up with another post: “Btw, I love Coach McDaniel, along with Grier and Ross; all of those guys have changed my family’s life.”
When Hill joined the Dolphins, the team made him one of the highest-paid players in the NFL, which the Chiefs were unable to do. The Dolphins spent a lot of picks, a lot of money, and the ambition of reaching the Super Bowl. Hill may and should express his affection for his general manager.
The Dolphins need to get their starting receiver into better routes so he can avoid the coverage that defences are putting on him. So far, Hill has just served as a decoy receiver, occasionally finding an opening. He continues to play despite a wrist injury that he claims could have ended his season.
