Burnley and Sheffield United eyeing move for Rangers star
Burnley and Sheffield United are among the teams to have taken an interest in Rangers winger Tom Lawrence.
This is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who have reported that there’s plenty of interest in the Englishman, who has enjoyed some excellent moments at Ibrox.
Lawrence, 31, is a familiar name to those who have followed the EFL in recent years.
He was a key part of an inspirational Derby County side that nearly defied the odds to beat relegation at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
Despite being deducted 21 points during that season, the Rams weren’t that far off climbing out of the relegation zone, but they fell just short in the end.
The winger then made the move to the Gers – and has done fairly well during his time with the Scottish Premiership side – scoring and assisting fairly regularly.

But his time north of the border may come to an end this year, with the player only having six months left on his current deal.

With the player based in Scotland, and with his contract situation in mind, English teams will be able to offer him a pre-contract deal this month.
The Clarets and the Blades are two teams believed to be interested in a move for him, and with both teams in the promotion mix, Lawrence could be plying his trade in the Premier League next season if one of the pair win the race for him.
According to the Daily Mail, Besiktas are another team believed to be interested in a move for the 31-year-old, who has failed to agree a new deal with the Gers at this stage.

At 31, time may be running out for the player if he wants to play in the English top flight, so the summer may be the time for him to make a move.
Remaining at Ibrox could be a good idea – because he should have the opportunity to play a key part in Glasgow – and he would be staying at a club where he has enjoyed success.
But Lawrence should probably keep his options open at this stage, knowing he has a decent amount of control over his future.
A move abroad could also be appealing for him, so it will be interesting to see what unfolds regarding his future.
