‘I Don’t Think’ – Jamie Carragher shares 777 Partners admission in new Everton takeover verdict

‘I Don’t Think’ – Jamie Carragher shares 777 Partners admission in new Everton takeover verdict.

According to Jamie Carragher, Everton’s takeover by 777 Partners is unlikely to be accepted by the Premier League, which would exacerbate the club’s previous issues.

The Toffees moved out of the Premier League relegation zone with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace on Monday (19 February), due to Amadou Onana’s late header at Goodison Park.

However, there is still a lot of uncertainty in Merseyside as supporters wait to see if American investment firm 777 Partners will be allowed to complete their takeover, and after 22 weeks, Carragher isn’t confident they’ll be approved.

On Monday (February 19, 18:56), he stated on Sky Sports Main Event that the club is currently funded and supported by Group 777, who are attempting to take over.

“The Premier League has not yet deemed them fit and proper owners. This should ordinarily take between eight and twelve weeks, but we’re already 22 weeks in, so I don’t think they’ll be passed as fit and legitimate owners of Everton Football Club.”

Will 777 Partners complete its Everton takeover?

Everton supporters must be sick and tired of waiting for the Premier League to make a judgment on 777 Partners, especially as it appears that the American firm is not a suitable contender for the Toffees.

As Carragher said, this procedure should take no more than three months, therefore the fact that the Premier League has yet to make a judgment after 22 weeks indicates that they have qualms about 777’s eligibility.

Sean Dyche’s appeal against profit and sustainability breaches is expected to be heard soon, indicating a potential verdict on the takeover.

Until then, the Toffees must remain focused on the pitch and do everything they can to avoid being pulled back into the relegation zone over the next several weeks and months.
