Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing PAOK striker Stefanos Tzimas.

That’s according toGerman outlet Bild, who state the Magpies are in ‘second place’ when it comes to interest in the 19-year-old. Tzimas continues to impress on loan at Nuremberg in the Bundesliga 2 this season.

Nuremberg are said to have an €18million (£15m) buy option which they intend to trigger in the summer. However, Bild details their plan is to ‘immediately’ sell the youngster on for a profit.

That’s where Newcastle come in, with the report suggesting they are ‘very interested’ in completing a swoop. However, they will reportedly face fierce competition from the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nurnberg sporting director Olaf Rebbe has ruled out an exit this month, however. “We will not be letting go of any key players in the winter. But with a view to the summer, we are of course already examining a number of options,” he said.

peaking about his future plans, Tzimas admitted playing in the Premier League is a ‘dream.’ “Yes, you could say that. The Premier League is also my dream league. But at the moment I am enjoying life in beautiful Nuremberg,” he told Kicker.

Elsewhere, Newcastle are said to be interested in Botafogo star Luis Henrique this month, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

Crystal Palace have been heavy favourites for Henrique, as Palace owner John Textor has a stake in Botafogo.

Besides Newcastle, Fiorentina and Zenit are also said to be monitoring the forward this month.

The Brazilian side are reportedly looking for a fee of £25m to part ways with the 24-year-old.

Henrique came through Fluminense’s academy before joining Botafogo from Real Betis last year.

He has won the Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores in his first full season.
