Breaking news: ‘I think…’ – Mike Dean delivers verdict on Sunderland penalty call vs Burnley – disagrees with Don Goodman.

Mike Dean argued with Don Goodman about the penalty call during Burnley vs. Sunderland. Former Premier League referee Mike Dean has delivered a clear ruling on Sunderland’s second penalty against Burnley on Friday. The two clubs drew 0-0 in the Championship, but the game was not without drama, as Sunderland were awarded two penalties, both of which were taken by Wilson Isidor and saved by Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford in the second half.

Isidor appeared to have been tripped outside the box for the first penalty before tumbling into the area. Dennis Cirkin, the left-back, was obviously taken down for the second time. However, co-commentator Don Goodman questioned the call during the game while working for Sky Sports. “Yeah, I think this is a penalty,” Dean stated in the days following the game. “No one has made any complaints about me.” The referee made a good decision.[Cirkin’s] just snatched it back; he commits the Burnley player to a tackle, misses the ball, and obviously gets the man.
