Sky Sports: Celtic earn Scottish Cup win over Kilmarnock | Aberdeen, Hibs through.
Callum McGregor and Daizen Maeda score in a 2-1 win for holders Celtic, with Bobby Wales on target for Kilmarnock; Andrew Shinnie scores late winner as Livingston upset Ross County, causing the first significant shock of the Scottish Cup fourth round. Celtic opened their Scottish Gas Scottish Cup defence with a 2-1 fourth-round victory over a determined Kilmarnock team at Parkhead. Killie keeper Robby McCrorie was hurt after less than a minute and had to be replaced by Kieran O’Hara, who was beaten in the 12th minute by Celtic captain Callum McGregor’s long-range shot.
The holders should have extended their lead further, but were startled in extra time in the opening half when teenage Rugby Park attacker Bobby Wales levelled from close range. Celtic increased the pressure after the break, and Daizen Maeda scored in the 70th minute, but they were unable to overcome Derek McInnes’ side, who kept the tie alive and tense until the final whistle. Aberdeen broke their lengthy losing record and advanced to the fifth round with a comfortable victory over 10-man League Two club Elgin.
