Birmingham City respond as Exeter City ‘appalled’ by alleged racist abuse of player

Caleb Watts, a midfielder for Exeter City, allegedly endured racist taunts on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Grecians took on Birmingham City in a League One match at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.
Additionally, Blues published a statement Exeter posted on social media platform X few hours after the final whistle.
“Exeter City FC is horrified by the racist taunts directed at Caleb Watts on social media today,” it said.
The message is unmistakable: racism is unacceptable in our culture. The club is offering Caleb our support and is
collaborating closely with the police and @kickitout.
“In order to help eradicate this, we need your assistance. Please don’t remain silent if you see or hear racist activity.

Watts played for Exeter against Blues on Saturday, starting the match and playing the full 90 minutes as Chris
Davies’ side won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ethan Laird.
