Sheffield Wednesday legend urges Dejphon Chansiri to ‘keep your nose out’ amid Owls protests

Chris Waddle, a legend of Sheffield Wednesday, believes that Dejphon Chansiri’s fans forum was a bad idea, as fans
expressed their disapproval at Elland Road today.

The former England international believes that the visitors have a genuine chance of pushing for a top six finish as

long as Danny Röhl is given what he needs. Waddle was speaking ahead of Wednesday’s match against Leeds United,
where many fans held flyers in the air in protest of Chansiri’s ownership of the team.

Wednesday, they’re getting along well,” Waddle said on ITV Football. “I believe that most people would have laughed

at you if you had stated that, at this time in the season, you would have been four points out of the playoffs. He has a

lot of faith in the team, they all look up to him, and his employees put in a lot of effort. I must admit that, in my

opinion, they have truly outperformed themselves.

You didn’t really need a platform this week for the chairman to express his opinions. In my opinion, simply keep

your nose out of the way and let Danny Röhl do his thing. Even if it appears that he won’t be able to acquire anyone,

Sheffield Wednesday has a chance to qualify for the playoffs if Danny Röhl has identified three or four players.

“You can see why fans are upset and a lot are going to try and protest a bit–you can understand that,” the Owls

legend stated in reference to the demonstrations that occurred prior to kickoff.

“It’ll be interesting to see how he reacts if there is somebody that comes in and talks money and says they want to

take Sheffield Wednesday on… It’s a great club, great fanbase, great history – and I’d love somebody to take them on.

“I think with Chansiri – thank you for what he’s done in a way – but to go to the next level I don’t think he’s got it. For

me, I hope he does sell it.”
