Green Brigade blast ‘lazy & spoiled attitudes’ in Celtic Park demands

The fan group have urged fellow supporters to help improve the atmosphere at home matches, blasting  “lazy, complacent, and spoiled attitudes” for a regression in the influence of the standing section at Parkhead.

In leaflets handed out before the Scottish Cup match against Kilmarnock, the group listed four demands from supporters to help enhance the backing offered to the Celtic players.

The following are the four bullet points:

Sing, speak up, support the team, and intimidate the opposition.
To make additional noise, clap along with tunes.
To express your gratitude, stay on the field until the squad has left.
Keep your phone in your pocket, savor the moment, and participate.

According to the group, a “unified, goal-end standing section” would be “the solution to many frustrations” and they are still dedicated to promoting The Celtic End.

However, the organization has campaigned for greater support and buy-in from fans because any significant changes to the Celtic Park concourse are still a ways off.

A thank-you note to supporters for their support up to this point concluded the lengthy statement.

“As we begin a new year,” the pamphlet said. As they pursue another treble, Celtic continues to hold a commanding lead in the league. We must make this request since, regrettably, the domination on the field is not mirrored in the stands.

“The first team on these shores to bring standing back to Premier League football was Celtic in 2016.” Thanks to everyone’s contributions, the standing section created a buzz at Celtic Park, transforming the ambiance and promoting ultras culture nationwide. Unfortunately, the standing section’s effect has declined as we get closer to ten seasons. This is due to a number of factors, some of which we are accountable for.

“But it is our collective duty to support the team. As ultras, we started a new support model in 2006, and we stick with it because we like it and think it works. Though all of these were frequent in the early years of the standing section, we recognize that this style isn’t for everyone at all times, therefore we are past demanding 3,000 hands in the air, jumping on the spot, swaying side to side, or doing the huddle.

Therefore, all we’re asking of you is to sing, speak up, support the team, and intimidate the enemy. To make additional noise, clap along with tunes. To express your gratitude, stay on the field until the squad has left. Your phone should remain in your pocket.

“We don’t want to be condescending about how important it is to support the squad or praise the Celtic spirit. Even on European evenings, though, the support has been plagued by spoiled, complacent, and lazy attitudes. Although there are numerous contributing aspects, the reality remains that we may improve our

“To close the gap between the Green Brigade and other spectators in the standing section, we launched North Curve Celtic in 2016.” The murals in the concourse are one obvious example of this initiative’s success.

But NCC has also stalled as a result of limitations and the club’s lackluster participation. To put it simply, the board understands that it cannot halt the development of fan culture but does not want a sizable, active fan movement.
