Commanders’ Jayden Daniels Shocks The World vs. Lions via Bold Prediction

The Washington Commanders have had a fantastic season by every criteria you choose. It’s been a successful first year under new management, with a 12-5 regular season, a playoff berth, and the win in their first playoff game.

But now the Commanders face what could be described as football’s best team, the Detroit Lions, who play tomorrow at Ford Field.

One could easily argue that Dan Quinn’s team is playing with house money in the Divisional Round, but Washington will not think that way; it deserves to be here.

While few expect the Commanders to dethrone the NFC’s top team, former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew has a daring prediction for the game, which includes Daniels accomplishing something he has only done once this season.

“Jayden Daniels is setting rookie records left and right,” Jones-Drew says. “Among them, he became the first rookie quarterback in Super Bowl history to throw for 200 yards or two touchdowns in a road playoff triumph last weekend.

He improves his play this week in the Divisional Round, contributing for five touchdowns in an upset of the top-seeded Lions. Five TDs? Daniels is going to have his way with a Lions defence that is sometimes vulnerable.

Daniels has only scored five touchdowns once this season, in a Week 16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, so predicting that it will happen again, especially in a playoff game on the road against one of the best teams in sports, is a strong statement.
