Aston Villa, UEFA has prohibited Legia Warsaw from selling tickets to its supporters for their next five European games.

45 men and one woman have been charged in connection with the violence that occurred last month when Legia supporters attacked West Midlands Police officers prior to kickoff at Villa Park. After then, no away fan was allowed inside the stadium.

Four police officers were injured, along with two horses and two police dogs, during the trouble. One of the officers was taken to hospital after suffering burn injuries when hit by a flare. Villa lodged an official complaint with UEFA over the conduct of Legia supporters the day after clashes outside Villa Park.

UEFA have since charged Legia with crowd disturbances, acts of damage, throwing of objects and lighting of fireworks. They have come to the decision to fine the Polish club €100,000 and ban them from selling tickets to away fans for their next five UEFA games.

In addition, gates and a lamp post outside Villa Park were smashed by Legia supporters in Birmingham, and the team was obliged to reimburse them for their losses.

After Ernest Muci’s equaliser, Moussa Diaby and Alex Moreno scored goals for Villa to win 2-1. With the victory, Villa secured the lead in Group E going into Thursday night’s group stage matches.

If Unai Emery’s team wins their match against Zrinjski Mostar in Bosnia, they will go to the round of 16.
