Celtic have responded the statement released by Rangers over the SWPL derby.

After Rangers cancelled away fans’ tickets for their SWPL match, Celtic retaliated against the Ibrox club.

In advance of the match on Sunday, the Ibrox club issued a message on Saturday that may have some bearing on

the championship winner. The Rangers stated “groups of ‘risk’ supporters in a significant number had purchased

tickets from the Celtic allocation.”

They further stated “Rangers’ security team decided it would be unsafe to allow these ‘risk’ supporters into the

stadium, and with Celtic unwilling to cancel just their tickets, the decision to cancel all tickets was taken.”

However, Celtic responded with a forceful response. The game will now be broadcast into Parkhead’s screens.

“Celtic Football Club was informed this morning that all away tickets for tomorrow’s women’s SWPL game at Ibrox

Stadium will be cancelled,” the statement read.

“It is extremely disheartening that so many fans cannot access the women’s game in Scotland at a time when so

many are working so hard to support and promote it.

“Especially more so considering the anticipated turnout and the variety of choices the home team had to enable

our supporters to attend in a stadium of this size securely.

“Celtic will coordinate with the home team to arrange refunds for all tickets, and we will notify our supporters who

bought tickets as soon as we have information.” We are happy to let our fans know that if they would want to

attend, the game will be televised at Celtic Park’s Sports Bar tomorrow.”
