The 20-year-old did not make it onto the field last night; instead, he was on the bench at Portman Road.
The attacker, who paid £9 million to join Brighton from Club Libertad in his native country in 2022, is reportedly
considering moves to the Blues and Leicester.
Although Town is aware of Enciso and has kept an eye on him during a few transfer windows, they are not actively
investigating him.
Since Premier League clubs are only allowed to sign one player from another top level team at a time, the Foxes
are now unable to sign another Albion player on loan because they already have Facundo Buonanotte on that
basis.
During his news conference prior to the Town game, manager Fabian Hurzeler addressed rumors that Enciso
would be transferred on loan, saying: “There are arguments for and against.” The most crucial thing, though, is
that he is aware of our and his arguments and that he is giving the team his best because, at the end of the day, he
consistently states that he truly enjoys playing for Brighton, which is why I believe he has already demonstrated
this this season.
He shown his ability to play well when on the field last Saturday against Norwich, where he scored. Ultimately, we
are quite glad to have him on the team.
“We always have to negotiate what is the best for the individual development from the player. What is helpful at
the moment? Is it like playing every game or is it training with the highest quality and not playing every game?
“So that’s always a thing where we have to exchange with the player, where we have to negotiate what is the most
helpful for the club, what is the most helpful for the player and then I’m sure that we will make the right decision.”
Enciso, who has been capped 23 times by Paraguay, scoring twice, is contracted until the summer of 2026 with
Brighton not looking to sell him.
Last January, the Seagulls and Town made a loan agreement, with Jeremy Sarmiento joining the team and helping
the Blues advance to the Premier League.
The Blues are still looking for a new number nine and another forward, even after signing Jaden Philogene from
Aston Villa. Two weeks ago, their £16 million proposal to Liverpool for Ben Doak, who is now on loan at
Middlesbrough, was rejected.
