Celtic beaten by Chelsea in Wednesday night Premier League International Cup clash

Celtic B’s winless streak in the Premier League International Cup continued on Wednesday night with a 3-1 defeat away to Chelsea’s U21s side.

Celtic B’s Premier League International Cup losing skid was extended on Wednesday night as they were defeated 3-1

on the road by Chelsea’s U21 team.

Chelsea’s Zain Silcott-Duberry scored the game’s first goal after 58 minutes. The London team held on to the victory

despite a strong effort from the Young Hoops, and Morgan’s third goal in the 90th minute increased their lead.

Celtic’s earlier losses against Brighton and West Ham United have effectively eliminated them from the youth

tournament, leaving them unable to advance to the quarterfinals.

In September, West Ham defeated the Bhoys by an overwhelming 5-0 score, while Brighton defeated the Bhoys 4-3

towards the end of the previous month.

The Celtic youth team has one more game to play before finishing Group B. In January, Darren O’Dea and Stephen

McManus will take their team to Hampshire for their fourth and last encounter with English opponents.

The focus of these games is on player growth and performance, but the Bhoys will be anxious to make sure they get

out of the group without losing.

Improvement needed in second half of season for Celtic B

It’s been a disappointing season so far for the Academy side having also finished bottom of their UEFA Youth

League group.
