Anthony Patterson: 7/10
Made a great early save to tip a shot around the post and after that did everything that was asked of him. Distribution was a bit iffy though.
Trai Hume: 7/10
Started a little shakily, with a few loose passes but grew into the game and sniffed out Burnley down his side.
Chris Mepham: 8/10
Great at the back again, won pretty much everything and always in the right place at the right time. Took a knock late on and was replaced by Ballard.
Luke O’Nien: 8/10
Like Mepham won his fair share of balls and threw his into the way of danger, including a potential goal-saving block in the second half.
Dennis Cirkin: 7/10
Was caused problems early on by Anthony but like Hume he also settled down and managed to stifle out the early threat. Got forward often too to help Le Fee down the left, winning a penalty deep into injury time.
Dan Neil (C): 8/10
Used the ball really well in the middle when we were in possession but also covered an awful lot of ground to cover the back four .
Jobe Bellingham: 8/10
A really good display in the middle of the pitch, often too strong and skilful for Burnley. Got up and down the entire game and although he wasn’t particularly dangerous going forward, he did really well throughout.
Patrick Roberts: 6/10
Put in a good shift down the right, linked up well with team-mates but final ball wasn’t there.
Enzo Le Fee: 7/10
Had a great first touch early in the second half to get past the full back, then played a sublime pass to Isidor who fired just wide. Thought he tired around the hour mark but you could see his quality and that was a highly promising debut.
Chris Rigg: 6/10
Chased a lot of lost causes and put in a lot of effort in midfield but a struggle to effect the game going forward.
Wilson Isidor: 7/10
Closed down really well all game and had a couple of good chances in each half, first fired over and then he hit the post from Le Fee’s pass. Won a penalty but had a low shot saved, had a chance to make up for it in injury time but went the right way and it was saved again.
Substitutes
Eliezer Mayenda: /10
Was really good when he came on, burst forward and played in Isidor for the first penalty and then looked to have won it but a Burnley defender did brilliantly to block a certain goal.
Dan Ballard: 6/10
Put himself about after coming on.
Man of the Match: Jobe Bellingham
Had a very mature performance in the middle of the pitch, used the ball brilliantly and had no problems getting out of trouble whenever Burnley tried to put him under pressure.
