RB Leipzig make offer for Juventus winger after Okafor snub.
After Noah Okafor’s planned deal fell through, RB Leipzig reportedly turned to Juventus winger Timothy Weah. The German club has reached an agreement with Milan for the versatile attacker, who has been reduced to a benchwarmer at the San Siro. They also reached an agreement with the player’s entourage on personal conditions. But, although the final signatures appeared to be a formality, medical examinations revealed an ailment that would keep Okafor out of action for three or four weeks. As a result, Leipzig chose to withdraw in order to sign a fresh player who is ready to start immediately.
So, according to IlBianconero, the Bundesliga club has now turned to Weah and has already made an offer to Juventus. The 24-year-old joined the Serie A giants in the summer of 2023 for €13 million from Lille. The American had a dismal first season in Turin under Max Allegri, but showed quick indications of progress with Thiago Motta in charge, particularly when used in a more aggressive role.
This season, the USMNT standout has made 20 appearances across all competitions, recording four goals and as many assists. However, Weah has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at the club, particularly with Kenan Yildiz, Samuel Mbangula, Nico Gonzalez, and Francisco Conceicao all available. As a result, the Bianconeri may be eager to move the winger for the right price, despite the fact that he remains a valuable option for Motta, particularly considering his versatility. So it remains to be seen whether there will be any developments on this specific track in the coming days.
Weah’s contract with Juventus expires in the summer of 2028, and his transfer value is predicted to be about 17 million by Transfermarkt.
