Correct-back for Coventry City According to ESPN Netherlands, Fulham and Everton have expressed interest in Milan van Ewijk.
Premier League suitors may make it difficult for Coventry City to hold onto the defender.
They are not under any hurry to cash in on him just yet because his contract with the Championship team runs until the summer of 2027.
Under former manager Mark Robins, Van Ewijk, 24, has been with his present team since 2023. Since then, he has played in 77 games across all competitions, 30 of which have been this season, and he has contributed four goals.
According to ESPN Netherlands’ most recent report on the player’s future with the Sky Blues, Fulham and Everton both think highly of him. It’s unclear if the top flight pair will make an official offer to formally express their interest veryVan Ewijk is a key player for the Sky Blues and has adjusted well to life in England since moving.
As reported by BBC Sport at the time, former manager Robins declared, “He is an exciting player who really fits in with the way we play. He has great pace and quality going forward, as well as defensive ability.”
Van Ewijk was a young player at Feyenoord before going on to spells at Excelsior Maassluis, ADO Den Haag, and Cambuur. Coventry City won’t want to lose him midway through a season.
After being signed by Heerenveen in 2021, the former Holland youth international played 78 games for the Eredivisie team for two years before Coventry City approached.
If a bid for Van Ewijk were to come in over the next few weeks before the deadline, the Sky Blues would have to make a decision because they wouldn’t have much time to find a replacement.
This weekend, Frank Lampard’s team will play at home against Bristol City in an attempt to gain some momentum.
Coventry City has had a sluggish start to the season and hasn’t been able to establish the consistency they’re looking for. They have until the end of the month to get some new players.
