Charlie Adam set for shock Premier League job as former Rangers midfielder gets big break
Since people like Russell Martin, David Healy, Charlie Adam, and others were showing out in light blue, it must have seemed like yesterday to many at Ibrox. Martin’s coaching resume now includes Premier League management, despite the fact that Southampton fired him after the Saints threatened to ruin Derby County’s undesired point total. Five times, Healy has led Linfield to the Northern Irish championship. Even though Charlie Adam’s managerial career hasn’t taken off yet—he was fired after just one year in charge of Fleetwood Town after the team was demoted to the fourth division of England—the former Rangers midfielder now has a chance to succeed in the top division.
Charlie Adam, a former Rangers player, is expected to join Everton.
Through his official Paveon account, Alan Nixon claims that Adam has been slated to join David Moyes’ coaching team at Everton. There is undoubtedly a long history between the master and his prospective disciple. About twenty years ago, Adam tried to get to Ibrox and stayed with the Moyes family. Even now, the two are still close, with Moyes’ brother, Kenny, serving as the 39-year-old’s agent. Just days before the Everton star would make an emotional return to his former Goodison Park stomping ground, Adam said on the Football Daily Podcast that he had spoken with Moyes about his next assignment. Adam remarked, “I had coffee with him on Friday before [Man City’s 4-1 victory over West Ham on January 4th].” “Anything will happen, and he’s in a great place.”
According to Adam, Moyes was “not looking for a job” at the time. It’s safe to say that quickly changed. When his beloved Everton came knocking, the seasoned Scot made a spectacular 180-degree turn, giving Sean Dyche’s replacement the opportunity to continue where he left off before that fateful move to Manchester United more than ten years ago. Adam has yet to demonstrate that he is suited for a coaching position, but Moyes, who lost to Aston Villa 1-0 on his homecoming this week, appears eager to give the former Liverpool playmaker every opportunity while he gets his bearings in the intense pressure of a Premier League relegation fight.
Charlie Adam is eager to absorb knowledge from Alex McLeish and Walter Smith.
Adam told the Daily Mail, “I’ve always wanted to be a manager,” hoping to make the most of the skills he had learnt from some of the biggest names in Scottish football. “I believe I have the presence and personality to be a manager, and I see myself as a leader.”Although Kenny Dalglish has that aura, I picked up tips from every manager, even Walter Smith and Alex McLeish. Before finishing his playing career at Dundee, Adam also collaborated with players like Mark Hughes at Stoke City and the mysterious Ian Holloway during that incredible time at Blackpool.
“Mark Hughes has exceptional communication and delegation skills. Adam remembers, “Ian Holloway made you feel like the greatest player who ever walked.” The young manager James McPake was in his first position when I returned to Dundee, and I found his style to be fascinating. You steal bits and pieces from everyone. I spoke with Vincent Kompany at Burnley, who is currently with Bayern Munich, over the phone. I’ve never been scared to reach out, mostly to attempt to get some gamers. The human connection has always been very important to Adam. And he may now be able to enter the realm of top-level management through his long-standing relationship with David Moyes.
