Stoke City interested in deal for 23-year-old winger

Stoke City are interested in a move for Brommapojkarna winger Alex Timossi Andersson this January, according to Swedish site Expressen.

Stoke City are enduring yet another poor Championship season, leading to further changes in the management department. By January, SCFC have had three permanent bosses with former Coventry City boss Mark Robins currently in charge.

The Potters are just four points above the relegation zone in 19th place. Going into January, they were always going to be busy as they look to push away from the drop zone.

The club have been linked with several players already and, a former Bayern Munich youngster is on the radar.

According to Swedish site Expressen, Stoke City are interested in signing Brommapojkarna winger Alex Timossi Andersson.

Andersson came through the academy at Bayern, only leaving in 2022. He then joined Dutch side Heerenveen before moving to Brommapojkarna in Sweden.

He scored five goals for the club last season and he could now leave before the start of the 2025 campaign. Brommapojkarna finished 10th in the Allsvenskan last campaign.

It is unknown as to whether Stoke City have made a bid yet but they are believed to have a strong interest in the player.

Attacking reinforcements needed

SAFC, SUFC - Sunderland and Sheffield United target Tom Cannon

Stoke City have struggled for goals this season. SCFC have only scored 24 goals so far this campaign, the joint-lowest in the Championship.

The Potters have also now lost their top scorer after Tom Cannon was recalled by parent club Leicester City. Cannon had scored nine goals already this season, which is three times more than any other player at the club.

Attacking reinforcements were already on the agenda before Cannon’s recall. However, now they are needed more than ever to prevent the Potters from being dragged further into the relegation fight. Andersson could be the first of many to come in before the deadline.

What next for Stoke City?

Stoke City face two tough away trips next up as they return to Championship action. The Potters beat Sunderland in the FA Cup last weekend.

SCFC head to play-off hopefuls West Brom this weekend, who have not lost in three games. After last weekend’s FA Cup win, Robins will be hoping his side keep up that form.

They then have a big game up against fellow relegation-threatened side Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Pompey have been picking up their home form recently, so the Staffordshire outfit are sure to face a challenge on the south coast.
