Chris Sutton predicts result of Everton showdown v Crystal Palace at Goodison Park

Chris Sutton has predicted the result of the upcoming Premier League clash between Everton and Crystal Palace.

The Merseyside club currently sit in 18th place in the Premier League table, with the Eagles currently occupying 15th place. Goodison Park plays host to the match on Monday (19 February), with Sutton predicting a 2-0 win for the home side.

“There has been something of a malaise around Crystal Palace recently, but they were actually very spirited in their defeat against Chelsea on Monday,” Sutton told BBC Sport. “The Eagles have missed their big guns, though. Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have not played enough for them this season. “Everton will see this as an incredible opportunity to end their long wait for three points and I bet Sean Dyche has them fired up. They need a win anyway, but it will be especially important if the teams around them pick up points earlier in the weekend.”

Everton need the points

It is fair to say that both the Toffees and the Eagles need all three points from this very important clash, but it is the former who are more desperate at this stage of the season. They have just 19 points to their name from their 24 matches so far, having been deducted 10 points earlier in the season for financial breaches. Palace meanwhile, who like the Goodison Park club are bereft of confidence, need a win to ensure they do not get sucked into a Premier League relegation battle. They may, however, already be involved in that tense battle, with the Eagles having just 24 points from their 24 matches.Sean Dyche will be working his squad hard on the training ground for this huge.
