The best Cowboys players from Week 14, according to PFF

The Cowboys are now sitting in first place in the division thanks to a rather dominant win over the Eagles on Sunday Night Football. A win like that requires top notch contributions from players at every level, and that’s just what Dallas got. Here are

the highest graded players from the game, according to Pro Football Focus.

Offense jumps out to hot start

The offense came out on fire to start this game, marching down the field and scoring a touchdown right off the bat. They scored touchdowns on three of their four drives in the first half and put up an insurmountable lead before going into a clock-management style approach in the second half. That affected the grades somewhat, but the Cowboys still performed well in this one

WR Michael Gallup – 76.7

What a redemption story. Not only was Michael Gallup the highest-graded offensive player this week, but his 76.7 player grade was his highest of the season. Gallup played just three more snaps than Jalen Tolbert, but he caught three of five targets for 48 yards and a touchdown. His two non-scoring catches went for a first down, as well.

RB Tony Pollard – 74.7

Another redemption story is Tony Pollard clocking in at second here and, like Gallup, this was Pollard’s best player grade on the year. He finished with 16 carries for 59 yards while also snagging a team-high seven catches for 37 yards.

QB Dak Prescott – 73.8

Dak Prescott said after the game that he didn’t play up to his standards, and that if he had done so the Cowboys could’ve scored 50 points. He’s not wrong, either, but Prescott still played well. He completed 61.5% of his passes for “just” 271 yards with two touchdowns and zero picks. However, Prescott did lose his first fumble of the year, and it was returned for a touchdown. Still, Prescott had three big time throws in this game and was a driving force behind the offense’s hot start.

C Tyler Biadasz – 72.5

Who would’ve guessed that Tyler Biadasz was the highest-graded offensive lineman in this game? That’s exactly what happened, as Biadasz played one of his best games of the year. He led all linemen in run blocking grade this week and, for just the second time all season, ended with zero pressures allowed.

TE Jake Ferguson – 68.5

This grade feels low for the kind of play we’ve come to expect from Jake Ferguson. The tight end caught five of his eight targets for 72 yards, with three of them going for first downs. He once again led the team in yards after catch with 50, and added another beautiful hurdle to his highlight reel.

Defense atones for its recent missteps

The Dallas defense was not at its best in the last game, when they forced zero punts all night. They also weren’t at their best in the first game against the Eagles. But they atoned for all of that with a standout performance, recovering three fumbles and keeping the Eagles offense out of the endzone all game long. It was an all around performance, with a whopping 14 players earning a 67+ player grade in this one.

LB Markquese Bell – 91.0

Markquese Bell was the highest-graded defender in this game, which feels poetic after the Cowboys’ failed pursuit of Shaq Leonard, who made his Eagles debut in this game. Bell had a 90.3 coverage grade in this game, leading the team, and also was third in run defense grade. He finished with four tackles and a pass breakup on the night.

S Malik Hooker – 86.7

Malik Hooker had one of his best games of the year against the Eagles this week. His 80.6 coverage grade was only good for fourth on the team, but Hooker made plays all over the field to boost his overall grade. A key pass breakup on third down was a particular highlight.

CB Stephon Gilmore – 82.2

Stephon Gilmore turned in a vintage performance, largely containing A.J. Brown in this game. While Gilmore gave up eight completions on 11 targets, he forced an incompletion and punched out the ball on another completion. Brown wasn’t shut down, by any means, but Gilmore prevented him from taking things over.

S Donovan Wilson – 78.8

Donovan Wilson the playmaker has been unlocked this year, and that should terrify every opposing offense. Wilson was flying all over the field and making plays in the run game, including a forced fumble on the Eagles’ opening drive of the game. All in all, Wilson’s 95.7 run defense grade led the team by a very wide margin.

LB Damone Clark – 75.3

Damone Clark has been growing in his role each week, and this game represented one of his best in his biggest area of weakness: pass coverage. Clark recorded a pass breakup on his lone target of the day, and consistently held tight angles in coverage. His 87.2 coverage grade was second on the team behind Bell, a rare double dip for two linebackers.
