Rangers duo clash in first-half flash point in fired up display

The first half features a fierce show of clashes between the Rangers two.

Being a demanding presence in the Rangers dugout, Philippe Clement’s booking in the 97th minute while his team was leading 3-1 says it all about his drive for success.

In front of an Ibrox crowd that was cheering on his team to the goal needed to top the Scottish Premiership, the manager of the Gers was arguing with referees.

But he wasn’t the only one who was energised; an early first-half incident demonstrated the impact Philippe Clement is having on this Rangers team.

As the two battle, Philippe Clement launches a Rangers rocket.

It was hardly surprising that it took the Light Blues up to five minutes to score their first goal because there was an intensity to their performance that suggested they meant business.

A preposterous forty-three efforts had been made by full time, with twenty of them on aim, three shots on goal, three blocked, and four goal-bound attempts cleared, leaving the goalie stranded.

It was evident that Philippe Clement wanted Rangers to win the league at the conclusion of the evening, notwithstanding his remarks made prior to the game.

We should have been up by three or four goals already at the 25-minute mark, with a 1-0 lead.

Rabbi Matondo had squandered a few opportunities to perform better, and Cyriel Dessers had the opportunity to have already collected the match ball.

Ross County had played a strong defense, but a mistake left goalkeeper George Wickens stranded, giving the two a fantastic chance to make it 2-0.

With acres of open and an empty net to aim at, Matondo let out his displeasure when Dessers took an early shot and blasted directly at the County stopper.

Dessers, who is usually the epitome of calm, shot back at Matondo, not at all happy with the 23-year-old’s attempt to challenge him.

Two players who are both motivated to score goals, losing the game because of a squandered chance.

All that demonstrates is how committed the two were to get another goal and how the Rangers team is receiving Philippe Clement’s message.

There’s a resilient soul just beneath the surface.

Cyriel Dessers and Rabbi Matondo must find it satisfactory if Ally McCoist and Paul Gascoigne did.
