Leeds United table multi-million deal to sign midfielder

It has been claimed that Leeds United have made an offer of £3.3 million, which includes performance-related incentives, in order to acquire the services of Dje D’avilla, a midfielder for UD Leiria.

This information comes from Sebastiao Sousa Pinto, a journalist for Sport TV Portugal. He claims that an official bid has been submitted for the Ivorian defensive midfielder, who is 21 years old.

Despite the fact that D’avilla, who is presently playing in Portugal’s second division, has garnered attention from a number of teams, it is believed that a prospective transfer to the Elland Road club would be complicated by concerns pertaining to work permits.

The fact that the teenager just recently signed a new contract that would keep him under contract until the summer of 2027 is another concerning aspect of the situation. The new contract had a release clause that was worth £12.5 million.

On X, which was originally known as Twitter, Sousa Pinto issued the following statement, which was distributed by MOTLeeds: “Leeds United have made an offer to sign Djé D’avilla in the region of £3.3 million – objectives included.”

Given the requirements of the work visa, a move to England is believed to be challenging. There have been other teams who have shown interest in signing the midfielder.

The holding midfield position, on the other hand, is one of the most well-stocked sections in Daniel Farke’s team, as both Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu have returned from injury.

During this transfer window, will Leeds United really spend any money?

The Yorkshire Evening Post stated that a defender and at least two forwards are being pursued by Leeds, even though Farke cast cold water on the assumption that there would be any extravagant expenditure since certain faces have returned from injury.

“Several of the really long-term injured players are back,” Farke remarked. “It’s important we have Firpo back, Gruev back, Ampadu – thank God -back.

“Ethan seems to be close to being back to his best already. Ilia and Junior look fantastic in training.

“Competition and options are always good for a manager but too many options and the group being too big can divide the whole group. Too many players around who are not required is not good for the mood of the group.

“One of the secrets why we are the team who has won more points in the festive period, is we’ve found solutions, in my experience is also the spirit within the group, the togetherness and unity, is more important than the quality when it comes to the crunch time. To overdo things makes no sense.”
