Murillo has already told Liverpool his answer amid new transfer links
Liverpool has once more been mentioned as a potential suitor for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. After making an impression in his debut season with Forest, the Reds were named by the Daily Mail as one of four clubs keeping an eye on the center-back’s development at the City Ground last year.
Murillo, who cost £11 million in August 2023, put on a fantastic display Tuesday night as Forest moved into second place in the league with a well-earned draw against Liverpool at home. The Reds are once again being connected to the Brazilian, who is apparently in talks to extend the five-year contract he signed eighteen months ago, which would provide him a significant pay increase. Regarding his aspirations for the future, Murillo has never concealed his love for Liverpool.
“I had the dream of playing in the Premier League and I thought, ‘I’ll go to Nottingham Forest, have a good year, and then I’ll go to a big club,'” he told Tribuna last year. That was what I was thinking.I would pick Manchester City, but with the talent they have in their team, it would be harder for me to start every game. “City and Arsenal are also vying for the Premier League championship. Liverpool would be a great place for me to demonstrate my football skills in a major league, so I wouldn’t rule them out either.”
