Rangers record-breaking performance receives praises by Premier League talent

In his “evening of his life,” Ross County goalkeeper George Wickenshttp://www.sportupdates.co.uk broke the record for the most saves in a Scottish Premiership game versus Rangers.

The 22-year-old English goalkeeper, who is on loan from Fulham, set a record with his 19 saves during the match, according to BBC reporter Liam MacLeod. It is a testament to an incredible evening at Ibrox, where Rangers tied Celtic for the most points in the Scottish Premiership, but were unable to get the extra goal that would have given them the lead.

Much of that was due to George Wickens’s outstanding play, which kept Rangers at bay even if the Ross County goalie would eventually give up three goals.

Philippe Clement praises Ross County goalie
Rangers manager Philippe Clement praised George Wickens after the team’s 3-1 Scottish Premiership victory.

The Ross County goalkeeper had the “evening of his life,” according to the Rangers manager, who asserted that luck was on his side.

According to Clement, “we had good possession play, good runs together, good tempo, and good shot.” We also had wave after wave of attacks.

However, we also had a goalie on the opposing team who may have had the best night of his life and some good fortune on his side. Therefore, today could have been much more, but being pleased is obviously important for managers.

Despite the 3-1 victory, I’m not very thrilled because I can’t expect my teammates to perform more than they currently do.

Against the Rangers, George Wickens shines.
Congratulations to George Wickens of Ross County goalkeeping for breaking the Scottish Premiership saves record on a regular basis.

The teenage goalkeeper for Fulham only made the team because number one Ross Laidlaw was injured when he joined Ross County on loan in January, good until the end of the season. Prior to his time with Ross County, the 22-year-old had only played in the English National League. For that reason, he deserves a great deal of credit for persevering in a fierce Ibrox.

Rangers had an impressive 23 shots on goal and 43 total during the game.
