HE’s number one target – Euro giants want to sign Everton star in £34.1m summer transfer
Amadou Onana of Everton is FC Barcelona’s “number one target” for a midfield addition this summer, but they don’t want to spend more than £34.1 million.

Spanish news outlet Sport reports on their website (February 14) that Deco has determined that the Belgium midfielder is the best choice to bolster the Catalan giants’ roster. Even if Onana is the team’s top pick, they will need to persuade Everton to accept £34.1 million because they don’t want to spend any more money than that, even though the Toffees have put their asking price at approximately €60 million (£51.2 million).
The team’s “physical and athletic ability” to defeat its opponents is deemed inadequate by Deco, who plans to address the issue in the upcoming market.

The most likely candidate to arrive is Everton’s Senegalese midfielder, Amadou Onana, who is known for his strong physical presence and adept ball control.

Despite his arrival, he is a fairly positional player. His inclusion would be made easier by the Toffees’ potential relegation (they have already been sanctioned once, losing points, and a second punishment might have disastrous effects). Barça will not spend more than €40 million, or £34.1 million.

Everton has a challenging summer transfer window.
Given the club’s current financial circumstances, Everton is certain to lose at least one elite player in the summer, which is obviously not ideal.

The club’s prospects of losing its finest players have increased as a result of the 10-point deduction, which put them in a relegation battle when they should be in mid-table. Additionally, it now appears that navigating the summer transfer window will be extremely difficult.

The Toffees are unlikely to be in a position where they can reject down significant offers, and there has already been discussion of clubs wanting to sign Jarrad Branthwaite as well. It will be considerably more challenging. However, there is no chance Barcelona will win the race if they are only prepared to spend £34.1m, which is essentially what we paid for him two years ago.

We’re not in a situation where everything has to be accepted so we can hold out for the best offer because other teams are interested and will undoubtedly be willing to pay more. Additionally, because he has plenty of time left on his deal.
