Rangers did express interest in signing the 43-year-old former player from Stoke and West Ham United during his early Old Trafford stint.
The midfield player was made available for a loan away from the Premier League club, and Rangers had been linked to him as a potential addition.
But Chadwick’s dreams of persuading Rangers to make a firm offer for a loan arrangement were soon dashed
Chadwick claimed to have “an absolute Regi Blinker”—rhyming slang for a stinker—on his Tik Tok account when Rangers scouts observed him playing in a reserve match.
Given that Chadwick never relocated to Scotland while playing, it meant Rangers did not make an official offer for the player.
while asked if he had ever received offers to relocate to Scotland, Chadwick replied, “It was only once when I was at Man United.”
“I was given permission to take out a loan; it wasn’t really an offer.
“And the manager mentioned that Rangers were keen on me and that they would be attending to see me compete for the reserve team against Manchester City.
And I looked like a total Regi Blinker. It was disappointing that Rangers chose not to sign me on loan since I played a terrible game.
“I would have cherished the chance to represent a team like that and play in a stadium like that.
Sadly, though, it never worked out. During my career, I received no serious offers from any Scottish clubs.”
