United can confirm modifications to the matchday offering, including a change to the Fan Zone throughout the winter months
United would prefer to make changes to the matchday offerings, such as changing the Fan Zone for the duration of
the winter.
More than 12,000 people have visited the Fan Zone since it opened in August 2024, offering Blades supporters a
variety of local entertainment, food, and beverages. The aim is to reevaluate after the trial period, though, and it
won’t be open in January or February.
Stephen Bettis, the CEO of United, said: “We were thrilled to present this opportunity to supporters after the
acquisition of Boundary Corner and some fruitful discussions with the Fans Advisory Board.
After six months we will now re-evaluate during the winter, as well as gather feedback, as we continually look to offer
the best possible service.”
Bob Dyson, chair of United’s Fan Advisory Board, added: “We’re in consultation with the club, as the Fans Advisory
Board, and have agreed with them that work on the Fan Zone can commence during the harsh weather weeks of
January and February.”
The club is open to comments regarding enhancements to better serve the requirements of Unitedites when it
reopens in March 2025. Fans can respond to this survey.
“Fans will have first-hand knowledge of what works and what doesn’t because they travel far and wide to support our
beloved Blades,” Bob continued. As we work towards a triumphant conclusion to the 2024–2025 season and beyond,
we kindly ask that you fill out the survey and ensure that the Blades Fan Zone returns larger, stronger, and better,
satisfying the requirements of fans with the greatest matchday experience possible.”
It should be mentioned that throughout January and February, the Fan Zone will serve as an extra concourse for
Kop supporters. It will be accessible from the turnstiles opening until just before the second half.
Blades supporters are also reminded that the DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City at Bramall Lane is open to them as
usual. The deli ground floor bar will open at noon on Saturday for the Championship match against Norwich City.
Fans will have exclusive access to the first floor bar starting at noon, where they can have a pre-match snack and a
pint. Booking in advance is required; for complete details, click here.
